Kamla Jeevan Hindi Debate

Rushita Arora, Anahita Mehra and Anandita Singh Bhada represented Mayo College Girl's' School in the Kamla Jeevan hindi Debate, hosted by The Doon School, Dehradun from the 6th of October to the 7th October. Ten Prestigious Schools of the country, like Welham Girls' School, Dehradun; The Scindia School, Gwalior; VDJS, Hisar; RIMC, Dehradun; Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer etc.took part in the evnt.

The teams were divided into three pools. The first pool had three teams, the second pool had three teams and the third pool had four teams. Mayo College Girls School was a part of the second pool along with MNSS Rai, sonipath and The Scindia School, Gwallior. MCGS tapped the scoreboard by being 24 points ahead of The Scindia School, Gwallior and 90 points ahead of MNSS Rai in the preliminary rounds.

We made it to the semi-finals against VDJS, Hisar. Winning the semi-final round by 32 points we entered the finals opposite the host school, The Doon School, Dehradun.

Both the teams put up an impressive and competitive show. The end of the final round saw The Doon School victorious by a few points and MCGS declared as the runners-up. Anandita Singh Bhada did us proud by winning the best speaker in the first, second, semi-final and final rounds. She was also adjudged the 'overall best speaker' of the debate. The host school being the winner of the Kamla Jeevan Debate Hindi Debate, the prestigious trophy was passed on to Mayo College Girls' School, Ajmer. This debate, was the last debate for our 12th class participants, we sincerely hope that the upcoming debaters of our school do us proud.
