Under the dynamic guidance of our principal Ma’am Khandke from the 16th to 23rd July 2014 MCGS celebrated a Happy Week with differently abled students from the Deaf and Dumb school, Ajmer. A group of 40 to 50 students of all age groups came to our campus at 1:30 pm everyday and enjoyed the ambience and the environment of Mayo College Girls’ School in various activities planned for them up to 4 pm. Community service girls enthusiastically interacted with them in sign language of love teaching them the skills of cooking and grooming, art and craft work and dance and drama. Mayo College Girls’ School staff voluntarily offered services throughout the week.
This week has positively influenced each and every student who has been connected to them, making them more sensitive and aware of their social responsibilities towards the underprivileged. They have learnt to share value and thank the Almighty for what he has blessed them with. This week also brought them closer to Round Square IDEALS – Internationalism Democracy Environment Adventure Leadership Service.
On Wednesday 23rd July and entertainment program was put up by the students of the hearing and speech impaired school prepared with tireless efforts from MCGS students. This program was attended by the trustees Principal, staff and students of the deaf and dumb school and the entire Mayo fraternity.
