Trip To Chandelao
On the 17th and the 18th of September, fifteen of our Sociology girls from class 12th visited a village called Chandelao near Jodhpur for an educational trip. It was an enriching experience and the girls got to learn a lot. On the first day, they visited an NGO called “Sunder Rang” owned by the Thakur of the village, Praduman Singh. It is a Chandeloa Vikas Sansthan’s non-profit craft center to empower the women of Chandelao. The students learnt a lot about the Rajasthani Textiles and handicraft works done by the local women of the village.
In the evening, the girls witnessed a splendid showcase of their traditional folk music put up by their local women. The next day, they visited a government school in the village itself where our girls imparted the children with writing basic English words and made the girls aware about how to maintain a good hygiene. Post government school visit they visited a village namely Peehpardh, where they witnessed on field Block printing and how they are sold to brands like Fabindia and Anokhi.
The trip was a rather indelible one which not only enlightened the girls about the workings of the various parts of the village but also made them aware about what the people of the village actually go through every day.
