Art Activity
Art has always been an integral part of Mayo. The Art and Craft Department at Mayo College
Girls' School firmly believes that artists and creatives derive immense fulfillment from
creating something they value beyond mere wealth or fame. The department provides students with
exposure to various art forms, including Painting, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Ceramics, Textiles
Design, and Crafts of various methods. The artwork of the students has traveled and has been
exhibited at renowned Galleries around the country.
They learn not only through the faculties of the department but also through
interactive sessions and workshops in collaboration with fine arts and Design faculties from
prestigious institutions around the world, guided by established and prominent artists, our
students have achieved outstanding board results and international accolades. Many students have
secured high percentages in IGCSE, ICSE, and ISC examinations. The department organizes arts and
crafts events involving students from classes 6 to 12, and our students have excelled in
national and international art competitions, gaining recognition throughout the public school
community and fostering confidence in their skills. Our department aims to inspire students to
pursue careers in art and design while continuing to raise the standards of artistic excellence.
The Art Society has a magazine known as “Hue” along with a dedicated
newsletter “Suave” designed to recognize the plethora of talents and expressions throughout the
school community.
