National Cadets Corps

Teacher I/C – Dr. Sultana Khan

National Cadet Corps or the NCC is the largest and most elite youth development organization managed by the armed forces of India. It believes in its motto “Unity and Discipline” and dedicates itself to the overall development of youth. It engages itself in grooming the youth to become disciplined, patriotic, and responsible citizens of the country. It also provides exposure to cadets in a wide range of activities, with an emphasis on social services, discipline, and adventure training. Every single responsibility is done with exceptional commitment, zeal, and dignity- be it an activity of tree planting, or a cleanliness drive or a drive to spread awareness about hygiene, environmental issues, awareness against the use of plastic or even the need to educate the underprivileged

The National Cadet Corps is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The motto of NCC is to instill Unity and Discipline (Ekta aur Anushasan) in the youth. The cadets are taught the DG’s four cardinal principles of discipline- to obey with a smile, be punctual, work hard and without fuss, and make no excuses and tell no lies.

Mayo College Girls’ School will provide its students (Classes VIII and IX) an opportunity to join NCC (5 Raj Girls Bn NCC, Udaipur), to inculcate the feeling of nationalism and importance of unity and discipline in life.

The guard of honor, unfurling of the National Flag, marches on Independence Day and Republic Day and escorting chief guests for various functions will all be done by our young cadets. Participation in several NCC activities inside and outside the school has fostered the cadets to develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship and the ideals of selfless service.
